Cosmetic Absorption Protocols

A short preparation pass that runs inside the same session, immediately before a compatible professional cosmetic. It is not a standalone service, and it makes no claim about pushing product into the skin.

Cosmetic Absorption Protocols

Professional care objective

A preparation step inside an existing session

The objective is not to push product into the skin. The objective is to prepare the skin surface so that the practitioner's chosen compatible cosmetic can be applied as intended, within the same session.

  • Prepare a consistent surface before the cosmetic is applied
  • Match the area and the chosen product - never a generic full-face pass
  • Stay inside the existing session length, never add a separate appointment
  • Document the cosmetic and the parameters used so the next visit can repeat the result

Suitable client profile

Who this protocol is designed for

Clients whose practitioner has already chosen a compatible professional cosmetic and wants a preparation step in the same session. Not a standalone service.

  • Clients whose practitioner has already planned the cosmetic product
  • Sessions where a finishing cosmetic is part of the menu
  • Practices that want a repeatable preparation step before specific products
  • Not suitable where product compatibility has not been confirmed by the practitioner

Workflow overview

A short prep pass before the cosmetic

The preparation pass is intentionally short so that the cosmetic application sits at its planned place in the session, not displaced. The pass is matched to the area the cosmetic will cover.

  1. 1

    1. Confirm the cosmetic

Verify which professional cosmetic will follow and that the practitioner has confirmed the combination on the client's record.

  2. 2

    2. Cleanse and dry

Start from a clean, dry surface. No occlusive products are applied beforehand.

  3. 3

    3. Run the preparation pass

A short, even pass with the chosen mode and applicator, matched to the area the cosmetic will cover.

  4. 4

    4. Apply the cosmetic

The practitioner applies the cosmetic immediately, following its own instructions and product sequence.

  5. 5

    5. Record

Document both the preparation parameters and the cosmetic product on the client's file so the next visit can repeat the result.

Product compatibility, sequencing and quantities are practitioner decisions, recorded in the client file. The website does not endorse any specific cosmetic.

Expected cosmetic experience

What the session looks and feels like

Clients experience the preparation pass as a brief, light step that adds little to the overall session length, with the cosmetic applied as normal immediately afterwards.

  • Brief additional step inside an existing session
  • Light sensation during the pass, no added discomfort
  • Cosmetic application follows at its planned point in the session
  • Outcome depends on the cosmetic, the surface preparation and the home routine

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Does the preparation step push product into the skin?

No such claim is made. The pass prepares the surface; the cosmetic is then applied as the manufacturer instructs.

Which cosmetics are compatible?

Compatibility is determined by the practitioner based on the products they use and their clinical judgement. We do not endorse specific cosmetics.

Can I book the preparation pass on its own?

No. It is a step inside a session, not a standalone service. Booking it standalone would leave the cosmetic application without context.

How long does the pass add to the session?

A few minutes. The protocol is designed to keep the cosmetic application at its planned time, not to extend the appointment.

Intended for professional cosmetic use. Regulatory status and permitted claims vary by market.
